Secured 15 billion won in government funding for 8 years

Innovates the education system by strengthening software convergence education

 

Korea University Sejong Campus has secured 15 billion won in government funding for 8 years and was selected for the general track in the ‘2024 Software (SW) Centered University Project,’ hosted by the Ministry of Science & ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation.

 

The project aims to enhance the digital innovation of Sejong City, in response to national and industrial demands to nurture practical new technology SW human resources and expand its influence. For this reason, the university will continue to strengthen its SW major by offering a curriculum that includes emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity, while also promoting basic SW education and SW/AI convergence education.

The strategic plan includes five key initiatives: enhancing the infrastructure of SW education, developing an SW/AI major based on new digital technologies, implementing level based DX (Digital Experience) convergence education, conducting Skill Gap Zero research and business, and enhancing digital literacy.

 

Kim Heeseok, the leader of the Research & Business Foundation, stated, "The selection was the result of our deep passion and determination to innovate SW education. Through this program, we are committed to establishing a successful SW/AI research and business education system, and to becoming a leading university for SW/AI convergence education, thereby driving national digital innovation."
